Breaking (also known as breakdance, b-boying/b-girling) is a dynamic street dance style that originated in New York and is a core element of hip hop culture. It offers dancers a chance to express themselves through diverse movements and individual style. Breaking is great for anyone wanting to develop body control, rhythm, and creativity in a fun, high-energy way.
Classes start with the basics and gradually introduce more challenging techniques. Acrobatic moves—both upright and on the floor—are key components, alongside cultural knowledge and freestyle creativity. Students build their own style through individual and group exercises, including cyphering (freestyle circles), helping improve mobility, strength, and overall fitness.
What to wear: Comfortable, flexible clothes and indoor sneakers with light soles.
